Question

I was recently asked who my hero is. And I had to stop. And think.

Did they mean hero? Or superhero?

Because there's a big difference.

Superheroes can turn an ordinary Tuesday into an exciting afternoon! filled with civilian-protecting adventures! and travel over rooftops by silken webs shot from their wrists!

Heroes are the real people behind it all.

If you look closely, our world is full of 'em. Sometimes they're just a little disguised.

Other times....they sit out at the counter at night, scarfing brownies with their brother and sister and showing off their full regalia.

And that's pretty fun, too.

Marisa + Chris in Brides Magazine

A few months ago, the photo editor at Brides Philadelphia contacted me after seeing Marisa and Chris's wedding on our blog. Little did I know, their wedding would not only be featured in the Real Weddings section of Brides Philadelphia, but Brides South Jersey as well! What a treat. Here are a few shots of the spreads:

I was thrilled to see that they sprinkled a few other images of Chris and Marisa throughout the magazines -- here's a shot of them on the Contents page....

...And on the left side below, you'll see our swing shot landed the full cover page of the Real Weddings section, as well. Such a fun layout!

Sonal + Mario day 1 . sneak peek

This morning at 8 am, I shot day one of Sonal + Mario's wedding weekend. It was absolutely lovely. So sweet and intimate and I had so much fun getting to know a bit of Sonal's side of the family. I was even treated to Sonal's mom's absolutely scrumptious homemade chai. (YUM!)

I cannot cannot wait for tomorrow. But before I get caught up in the next ceremony, I wanted to post a few shots we took this morning down in the park near the home where Sonal grew up....

Amelia Anna has arrived.

This Tuesday afternoon around 2:00, I got the call. My sister-in-law Abbie was heading to the hospital, and the baby was most likely on the way soon after. After some quick packing, I jumped in the car and headed for Maryland, worrying that I wouldn't make it in time to see Abbie & her husband Kerry and take a few shots before the baby arrived. But luckily, I arrived before the little one did. WAAAAAYYyyyy before the little one did. Because the baby that we thought would show itself Tuesday afternoon didn't arrive until today (Thursday morning). And in between that time there were contractions, there were questions, there were about a hundred trips back and forth to the hospital with soon-to-be big brother Gabe, and there were a whole lot of anxious people waiting to hear what on earth might happen. At one point on Wednesday morning, the doctor came in and deflated everyone when he mentioned that it might be another month before this baby arrived. Another whole month.

But less than 24 hours later, Amelia Anna arrived, in all of her tiny (4 lbs 13 oz, 19 inch long) perfection! With a full head of hair and a hungry belly, she busted her way into this world with a force no one could ignore this morning.

This is the story (in photos) of her arrival (or click here for the full size version):

Welcome to the world, Amelia! We're so happy you're finally (FINALLY) here. And congratulations to Abbie, Kerry, and Amelia's supercute big brother, Gabe.
