These photographs just make me happy.

Caroline + Jeff . day after shoot . Montego Bay, Jamaica

Just a few quick frames from Caroline and Jeff's love the dress shoot in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Caroline + Jeff . destination wedding . Jamaica

I got to spend lots of time with Caroline and Jeff at all of the pre-wedding shoots we did, so I was really excited when it finally came time to board the plane for their wedding at the Riu Montego Bay! What a fun wedding -- the weather held out perfectly despite the mid-afternoon storms that had been rolling through all week, and we had time to hit all of the great spots we had scouted for their portraits before the sun set over their cocktail hour on the beach.

HUGE thanks to my wonderful friend Melanie Litchfield of Whitebox Weddings who came all the way out to Jamaica to second shoot with me! Mel and I had a great time collaborating on shots -- it was such a treat to have her there!

So, without further ado...I'll kick it off with the dress:

Caroline's suite was so roomy and bright -- it made me wish I could shoot in Jamaica every day!

Even the closet was cool -- I took a bunch of shots in here....

LOVED the steel drummer band. And the simple, sweet ceremony setup left all of the focus as it should be -- on the bride and groom.

Can you feel that tropical wind blowing?

The colors at the Riu are perfect for shooting! We had great purple backdrops everywhere we looked.

Of course one of the coolest spots was this staircase behind one of the resort's kitchens in a totally off-limits area. The sweet spots are always hidden somewhere unexpected....

Love love LOVE this tree we found on the beach. These are some of my favorite bride & groom shots ever.

More purple!

The view from Caroline and Jeff's cocktail hour... The sunsets in Jamaica are amazing! It was like this every night we were there.

The perfect little candlelit path down the beach to their party.

Caroline + Jeff -- what a fun time! Thanks for being such great sports. Next up on the blog -- shots from C+J's Love the Dress session around the town of Montego Bay!

For all the fashionable/adventure girls out there....

.....this one's for you!

I'm generally a pretty casual girl -- partly because I'm just more comfortable in hiking boots than in heels, and partly because it's increasingly tough to find fashionable AND functional items. So when I discovered this perfect pairing, I knew I had to share.

So here it is: my friend and fellow PhotoGirl, Maile Wilson, just announced the launch of her sweet new camera bags for women!

I can't wait to get my hot little hands on these bags! They're so colorful and cute. And best of all -- you don't even have to be the girl who lugs around 2 cameras and 18 different lenses to use one -- just remove the velcro compartment sides and voila, it's the perfect everyday bag!

The bags won't be available for another month or so, but if you're interested in learning more or signing up for some early discounts, you can click here.

And huge congrats to Miss Maile and her fabulous design skills! I'll do my best to post some more photos for you all to drool over once I get my bag. :)

diving doggies

If you're a puppy person (and I know a lot of my blog readers are!), you're going to LOVE this:

My wonderful friend and fabulous photographer, Brooke Mayo, just released a bunch of autographed, first edition copies of her new book, "Diving Doggies: A celebration of Play Underwater".

Her book is a collection of the very cool underwater photography work she's been doing, shooting dogs swimming & scootin' around from below the surface! SO cool! We need to get our little Sully in on this....

Here's a little blurb about the book from Ms. Brooke herself:
There are thousands of books already published about dogs, so why should you glance at Diving Doggies: A Celebration of Play Underwater? As you flip through the pages of this book, you will discover a world that has existed for our beloved canines that we’ve rarely had a chance to see – dogs enjoying the freedom of the water – the weightlessness they feel as they dive to the bottom of the pool or ocean in search of their favorite toy.

Americans own 73 million dogs, according to American Pet Products Association, and 75 percent of those dog owners say they consider their furry friend to be a member of the family, even one of their children! I wanted to provide a unique and exotic look at the faces of dogs as they splash, dive and swim through the water. I feel these photographs truly capture the heart of every dog – finding pure joy in the simpler things in life. You may also pick up a few lessons for your daily life while reading this book – to sit back and enjoy the “dive”.

Each dog has a story to tell, and you’ll get to know them through the pages of this book. They are inspiring and funny, and may tempt you to get to know your doggie friend in a way you never have before. They’ve certainly changed the direction of my life and allowed me to explore my creativity behind the lens I never dreamed of.

It is my hope that you will find comfort and joy with Diving Doggies: A Celebration of Play Underwater. My book is a celebration of our best friends. –Brooke Mayo
